Experience
Christopher Hitchens (1949–2011) was a British-born journalist, political correspondent, and book author. He wrote in England for the Daily Express, The New Statesman, and the Evening Standard of London and in America for Vanity Fair, New York Newsday, Harper's, The Spectator, and The Times Literary Supplement, among others. He authored numerous books, the most recent Why Orwell Matters (Basic Books, 2002), but is possibly best known for his controversial The Missionary Position: Mother Teresa In Theory and Practice, where he depicted "Saint Theresa of Calcutta" as a hypocrite, who courted the attention of the rich and powerful all the while preaching obedience and supplication to the poor.
