Quince sheets are made of 100% European linen spun from flax. The material is Standard 100 Oeko-Tex certified, which means it’s free of harmful chemicals or pesticides. The soft, all-natural fibers offer hot sleepers plenty of ventilation, especially when paired with cooling blankets or comforters. Pure linen makes some of the best and sturdiest cooling sheets. Plus, the mid-weight material only gets softer and cushier over time.
There’s an expansive range of trendy and neutral colors and plenty of sizes to choose from. And if you have a tall mattress or mattress topper—don’t worry. How we tested Quince linen sheets
I’ve been testing a queen-sized set of Quince linen sheets on my deep Helix Midnight Elite mattress since February 2025. I opted for a classic white colorway with a fitted sheet. I share a bed with my spouse, and we bundle up with multiple blankets and a weighted stuffed animal or two.
Packaging and first impressions
The Quince sheets arrived in no-frills packaging. They were packed inside a linen drawstring bag (handy for future storage) and wrapped in plastic. As expected with linen, they have a slight texture but are by no means scratchy or coarse.
Since I have sensitive skin, I pre-wash all new bedding and clothing. I tossed the set in the machine on a cold, gentle cycle and dried on low heat. They were pretty wrinkly, even when pulled promptly from the dryer. I also noticed more lint in the dryer vent than in other sheets I’ve tried.
I went to make my bed and prepared for the first test: would these sheets fit my extra-deep mattress? The fitted sheet went on easily, with some room to spare, and the flat sheet was equally roomy. This was a win for me, but if you use a slim mattress, the Quince linen sheets might be too loose. They’re designed to fit mattresses up to 16 inches deep.
Sleep testing
When I crawled into bed, I immediately noticed a difference in texture. My go-to set is the Percale Hemmed sheets from Boll & Branch, which feel like a crisp, button-down shirt. The Quince linen sheets are a little toothier. Again, they’re not rough, but they do have a noticeable texture, especially at first. Linen is designed to get softer with each wash.
As we head into spring, temperatures here in Wisconsin vary wildly. Some nights are pure winter, while others are considerably warmer. While I can always swap out my best pajamas, changing up bedding every night is a little trickier. Right now, I still have my heavyweight duvet and flannel duvet cover on. The Quince linen sheets did a great job regulating my body temperature throughout the week, even as our bedroom temperature fluctuated. They really are nice and cool without being downright cold.
The only downside is that the fitted sheet shifts off the corners of my mattress. I do move around a lot in my sleep, and the texture of the linen makes it a bit slippery. The sheets never come fully off the bed, but it’s a slight annoyance I need to adjust every few mornings.
Cleaning and care
Linen sheets are no harder to care for than cotton sheets. Simply pop them in your machine with like colors and wash with cold water. The brand recommends using a gentle or delicate cycle. To dry, avoid high heat and remove promptly to combat wrinkles. If desired, you can steam or iron for a more polished look.
After multiple washes, the Quince linen sheets still look as good as new. They’ve gotten slightly softer but have not changed in size or color. I plan to continue testing them to see how they hold up to additional months of use.
However, I did find one odd quirk: These sheets left dozens of small fabric pills on my mattress protector. They were hard to spot because of the white-on-white hue, but I imagine they’re more noticeable with any of the colorful sheets. I didn’t notice pilling on the sheet itself or on my PJs when I woke up in the morning, but it’s worth noting—especially because I don’t typically lint-roll my bed between sheet changes.
Value
100% linen sheets can be pretty pricey. A queen-sized Quince set with a flat sheet costs around $180. Comparable sets easily go for $300 or more. While the Quince set isn’t perfect, none of the flaws we encountered in testing are dealbreakers.
