It’s no secret that at Reader’s Digest, we’re big fans of Cozy Earth. The brand has earned two mentions in our best pajamas roundup, won a top spot in our best cooling bed sheets piece and has even been spotted in our picks for the best cooling blankets.
After all these accolades, we decided to put the brand to the ultimate test—sending six of our pickiest shopping editors bamboo PJ sets to write the end-all, be-all Cozy Earth pajama review.
As shopping editors, we’re a highly discerning bunch. We tested the Cozy Earth bamboo pajamas for fit, style, comfort and durability in a variety of environments. We ordered six sets of PJs in an assortment of sizes, colors and styles to determine how they performed in real life. Read on for our editors’ thoughts—and let the coziness commence!
Six Reader's Digest editors put these PJs to the test. And, while pricey, they're worth the splurge thanks to their oh-so-cozy construction.
Cozy Earth bamboo pajamas may just be the softest PJs on earth. They’re available in a mix of stylish sets, including classic long-sleeve top and pant or short-sleeve top and pant combos. You can also find plenty of separates, like long-sleeve tops and short bottoms, for the ultimate mix-and-match fit. There are even sleep dresses! Whatever your dream pajamas look like, Cozy Earth makes them.
Each stretch-knit bamboo piece features a fabric blend of 95% bamboo and 5% spandex. This mix promotes breathability and comfort, helping you stay cozy in the cold and wicking away sweat in warmer months. Sizes range from XS to 3XL, and long-sleeve tops come with a “tall” option.
Pajamas can be pretty subjective. That’s why we wanted to get multiple opinions on Cozy Earth bamboo pajamas to see if they really live up to the hype. We sent six sets to editors and writers who live across the U.S. in a variety of different climates. Here’s what they had to say after months of daily wear.
“When it comes to PJs, I’m loath to buy a dedicated set. Why make a separate purchase when an oversized t-shirt and shorts will do?” asks Deputy Shopping Editor Reina Galhea, who tested the Cozy Earth long-sleeve top and pant set. “Right out of the package, I was impressed with the quality of these long-sleeve pajamas. My old cotton shirts might as well be sandpaper compared to the silky bamboo viscose material, which was surprisingly breathable and wrinkle-resistant once on.”
Galhea also admired the fit on her tall frame. “The pants weren’t billed as high-waisted, but I found that they sat noticeably higher than my flannel pajama pants. I have a long torso, so that’s a major plus. The top fit nicely too—the material hung like a slouchy shirt, no boxy-ness to speak of.”
But the sleep test was what truly won her over. “Because these PJs are breathable and light, even sleeping in full pants and long sleeves didn’t cause me to overheat. They did bunch up around my elbows and knees during the night (an inevitable circumstance of sleeping in long pants and sleeves), but because the material is so light and thin, it didn’t bother me a bit. Overall, I definitely understand the hype over Cozy Earth PJs. You cannot beat the quality.”
Shopping writer Oliva Hanson also tried a Cozy Earth long-sleeve top and pant set when researching the best plus-size pajamas for women.
“Out of all the pajamas I’ve tested, Cozy Earth’s bamboo pajamas with the stretch-knit stood out a bit above the rest. The pajamas, made of premium viscose bamboo and spandex, were lightweight enough and felt barely there, yet still kept my body temperature regulated throughout the night,” Hanson says. “The enhanced breathability of the fabric also helped prevent night sweats.”
With sizes ranging from XS to 3XL, Cozy Earth ensures an oversized fit that suits every body type. “I also loved the fabric’s stretch-knit because of its ability to be stretchy enough to move with my body while not being too stretchy where it bunches up in the wrong places,” Hanson explains. “To top it off, the design of the pajamas is beautiful and classic, perfect for lounge nights on the couch bingeing your favorite show or a wine night with your girlfriends.”
“I’m not exaggerating when I say I’ve been living in these bamboo beauties since I got them,” says Associate Shopping Editor Madi Koetting, who tested the Cozy Earth short-sleeve top and pant set. “They’re my go-to after long days and even double as work-from-home loungewear.”
“I’ve bought button-down pajama sets like this pair before,” Koetting explains. “But the soft, lightweight material of Cozy Earth’s bamboo PJs are truly unmatched—and they have pockets! I love the loose yet tailored feel. The fabric does cling a bit, but not in a way that’s uncomfortable or like it’s hugging the wrong places.”
Plus, they’re easy to clean. “Shortly after receiving them, I did get an olive oil stain on the pants because, well, I was wearing them all day and was a little too clumsy when whipping up lunch,” says Koetting. “I washed the pajamas inside out, and the stain lifted away like magic. And the fabric didn’t pill! These are by far the most luxurious pajamas I own and my new go-to for family gifts.”
“The quality of these pajamas is obvious right out of the package and after multiple wears,” explains Executive Shopping Editor Megan Wood, who also tested the Cozy Earth short-sleeve top and pant set.
“Straight out of the dryer, the material felt buttery, soft and comfy,” says Wood. “No gaping at the buttons or weird floppy collar situation either. These are my go-to pajamas and a major style upgrade from mismatching sets I’ve acquired over the years.”
Senior Shopping Editor Megan Mowery is officially a PJ set convert after trying the Cozy Earth long-sleeve top and short bottoms pairing. “I never understood the appeal of fancy pajama sets. When I’m not in my around-the-house uniform of leggings and a sweatshirt, I’m hopping into bed in a big t-shirt of indeterminate, years-old origin. But I have to admit it—Cozy Earth rocked my pajama-less world,” Mowery says.
“Their incredibly soft, stretchy, silky material is plenty comfortable. But even better, they’re almost cool to the touch, which is especially appreciated since I can’t stand to feel overheated when I sleep. They’re flattering, too, with their classic design and high waistband that feels sturdy and waist-defining.”
But Mowery doesn’t love these pajamas just for their performance overnight. “They’ve lately become my favorite thing to slip into after I finish work—I instantly feel relaxed and even a little fancy as I prep dinner and enjoy my nightly TV,” she says. “A glass of wine plus pasta and these pajamas equals an unmatched luxurious vibe.”
When Senior Shopping Editor Caroline Lubinsky first saw this Cozy Earth bamboo sleep dress, she wasn’t sure what to think about the fit. It reminded her of a loose-fitting mumu. But when she tried it on, she understood the hype.
“The Cozy Earth bamboo sleep dress is a must-buy,” Lubinsky says. “I love the fit; it’s loose enough for optimal breathability but doesn’t look like a shapeless bag. It’s cute, comfy and practical for sleep. What more could you ask for?”
It only comes in one length, but Lubinsky, who’s 5’10”, found it to be the perfect length—not too short, not too long, but just right. Plus, after several washes, the sleep dress showed no signs of wear.
Across the board our editors agree—yes, Cozy Earth pajamas are worth it. The soft, buttery feel and breathable bamboo fabric make these sets a luxe upgrade from any old PJs. The size range is versatile enough to fit many body types, and we love the option to choose either tall or regular sleeve lengths. Yes, they’re pricey. But they’re a splurge that can lead to better temperature regulation and, ultimately, a better night’s sleep.
All six editors gave Cozy Earth PJs rave reviews. They're pricey, but the soft, breathable fabric really can help you have a better night's sleep.

In our opinion, yes. While definitely a splurge, our editors were impressed with the quality and breathability of each set tested. Plus, they fit an array of body types and heights while maintaining an oh-so-comfy fit. We’re smitten with plenty of other Cozy Earth products, too, like sheets and comforters.
Billed as “luxury bedding and loungewear,” there’s no denying Cozy Earth products are a splurge. However, the brand is involved in every step of the manufacturing process, including working with farmers and suppliers. They’re also devoted to good working conditions and fair labor practices, as well as environmental safety. These steps translate to quality, ethical products—and a higher price point.
No, but the brand is committed to avoiding harmful dyes and chemicals in its products.
